Beneful dog food is recently one of the well-known brands in the market. Dog owners are always buying Beneful for their dogs as dogs seem to love it. Beneful dog food has several formulas all of which cater for different needs of different dogs. All of these formulas are made keeping in mind that the correct nutrients are essential for proper growth of dogs. Beneful was first introduced into the dog food market in 2001. It is manufactured by Nestle Purina PetCare which produces Beneful dry food and wet food. Propylene glycol which is an ingredient of most brands of dog food has been criticized as harmful although it is approved by the FDA. Nestle Purina PetCare researched and developed new formulas for Beneful dry food over a period of two years
Beneful dry food new formulas were to be released into the market on May 9th. The distribution was planned to be made to retail shops in the southwestern part of United States. Preparations were being made to ensure new Beneful dry food formula is available in all regions of the USA a few months later in August. There are eight new Beneful formulas including; originals with Real Beef, Incredibles with Real Beef, Healthy Puppy, Healthy Weight, Originals with Real Chicken, Playful Life and Incredibles with Real Chicken. The remaining Beneful formula is Originals with Real Salmon, which is due to be in the market in 2017.
Constant criticism of added sugars, colorful dyes, and propylene glycol affected the new formulas. Propylene glycol was replaced with glycerin which is entirely natural. Bright colours were also reduced because although they are not harmful to dogs, they do not like them. The current Beneful formulas are all dry food, but Nestle Purina PetCare is also looking to develop Beneful canned wet dog food. The Beneful dry food new formulas were tested and approved as healthy for dogs. The new formulas were also made in consideration of the concerns of dog owners and what is best for dogs. The formulas contain actual meat and are reasonably priced keeping in mind they are safe, nutritional and very healthy.
